RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS
We would love to have the involvement of our local faith based community if you have a heart to serve and love on the local Whittier neighborhoods and families by keeping free and available art resources and experiences open for children. So often these opportunities are not possible for children of low income families, and difficult for full time working parents. If you would like to be a blessing to your community, we are looking for volunteers to commit to:
One day for 5 weeks at a time (up to as many as 3 days a week, year round)
Available between 2:30-5:30 on either Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays.
Willing to complete an application, live scan, and 2 basic training for emergencies procedures and expectations
NOTE: You do not have to be artistic in order to volunteer! We love having added helping hands to assist the children, and you also can grow in your ability to feel more creative as you join the classes with the children!

STUDENT SHOWCASE
MAY 23rd 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Heart Ink students from 2023-2024 are invited to display 1-2 pieces of artwork at the STUDENT SHOWCASE. They can choose 1 item done in a single class period and 1 item they have worked on at home on their own. They are responsible to label, mount, and display their artwork in the room prior to the event start time.

Serve Your Community:
Volunteering with Heart Ink requires a commitment to modeling Christ-like character to those in the community that we are serving, therefore, we would ask all volunteers abide by conduct supporting these values while in the classroom and outside of it. We reserve the right to select volunteers based on skill, character, heart, and spiritual maturity. We require all volunteers to go through an application process, training, and background check and LiveScan ($45 fee). You would be assisting the students and teacher in the classroom, but could have opportunities for future growth in leadership depending on the consistency of your volunteer availability and character. (We are looking for a minimum of a 5 week commitment at a time between the hours of 2:30-5:30 during the weekday.)
