They will practice using art vocabulary to describe what they see in artwork, explore art mediums such as watercolor, oil pastels, acrylics, pencil, pens, and mixed media.

(NOTE: March 27th classes are canceled for spring break.)

These classes are usually free, but this semester we need to charge a small fee. If you are not able to pay the $5/class, you can apply for a scholarship for your child.

    COST: 5 FRIDAYS for $155

Students will be coached progressively in their drawing and painting skills rather than copying step by step drawings or paintings. Students choose their own images to work from within the given theme. The first two days they will understand the art elements as they practice matching colors by mixing a color wheel (COLOR), using blending skills (VALUE), prep the canvas, and re-draw the image (LINE, SHAPE, FORM, SPACE). The next three days they will do a first layer of paint, building up to the value and details applying their new skills while incorporating any nuances of TEXTURE as they add their unique style to the painting.
