CLASSES TO CHOOSE FROM:

  • Heart Ink Art Tuesdays (Free)

    GRADES: PreK-1st

    Fall Term: Sept. 9th-Dec. 16th

    Spring Term: Feb. 3rd - May 12th

    ( A 2 YEAR PROGRAM)

    * Dec 16th Christmas Party

    * May 15th Student Showcase Event

    * NO CLASS DATES: Nov. 25th - Thanksgiving Break / Dec. 23-Jan 27th - Christmas Break / April 21st - Spring Break

    TIMES: 3:15-5:00 p.m.

    These classes teach about Famous Artists and the Basic Elements of Art all while connecting to the Great Artist with a short interactive ten minute Bible Story as they complete an art project. We hope to be a blessing in the community for families that are not able to afford art classes, bless local parents who need quality after school kid programs, and create safe spaces for students and parents to ASK QUESTIONS about faith, regardless of their beliefs and background. These programs are geared for those who have never stepped into creative spaces, so you don’t have to be an “artist” to participate. We will build some foundational tools for those who want to develop their child’s interest more intentionally later as they grow. We will explore watercolor, acrylic, pens, pencil, and oil pastel projects as your child grows in creativity, motor skill development, and self-discovery

    3 Year Old- 1st Grade Specific: Young Ages will focus on the basic fine motor development skills for this age, learn the color wheel, and how to draw shapes. They will complete a project each class with step-by step instructions to follow, and be introduced to all of the art elements, famous artists, art vocabulary, and art mediums such as watercolor, oil pastels, acrylics, pencil, pens, and mixed media.

    REGISTRATIONS: You must confirm your registered spot for each semester term.For September-December complete or renew your application in JUNE-JULY. For Feb-May complete or renew your application NOV-DEC.

    COSTS: Heart Ink classes are donation based to remain FREE for the community. Although at times we might need to charge a small $5 fee to cover supplies depending on our funding for that year. If that is a problem for your family, you can fill out our Scholarship Application. Priority can be given to students from low income families, families where both parents work and after-school activities for their children are needed, and students needing support emotional self-regulation and mental health outlets such as the arts.     2nd-6th Grade Specific: This age level will focus more on the Basic Art Elements (Line, Color, Value, Shape, Form, Space, and Texture) along with famous artists. They will still follow step by step instructions, but be given more creative freedom. They will practice using art vocabulary to describe what they see in artwork, explore art mediums such as watercolor, oil pastels, acrylics, pencil, pens, and mixed media.

  • Friday FUN Days (Non-Sectarian)

    GRADES: 3rd - 8th (10 students max)

    STARTS: Sept- Dec and Feb-May

    COST: 5 FRIDAYS for $155

    TIMES: 3:00-5:00 p.m.

    These classes will coach students progressively in their painting skills rather than copying step by step instructions. Students choose their own images to work from within the given theme. The first two days they will understand the art elements as they practice matching colors by mixing a color wheel (COLOR), using blending skills (VALUE), prep the canvas, and re-draw the image (LINE, SHAPE, FORM, SPACE) from their chosen picture. The next three days they will do a first layer of paint, building up to the value and details applying their new skills while incorporating any nuances of TEXTURE as they add their unique style to the painting.

    5 WEEK SESSIONS: Select which dates you want to register for on the application form based on the themes.

    SPRING TERM (Dates TBA): Trees & Nature, PopArt, Abstract, Still Life

    REGISTRATION: Select which 5 weeks your child will attend between the listed dates. Payments are required to hold your spot. The payment link will be sent with an email confirming your Registration and Parent agreement forms are completed and space is available. Payments are non-refundable after attending the first class, as it means your spot was not able to be filled by another student after the session begins. No priority is given to individuals; it is first come first serve.

    Charter School Payments (Funding):

    Your supplies are part of your cost for the class. You must pay the full $155 dollars which includes the supply fee. If you do not attend all of the 5 days of class, you will still be billed for the entire 5 weeks without discount. All invoices are charged after the completion of the of the class to the appropriate charter school.

  • Summer Art Class Intensives

    GRADES: 3rd-8th (10 students max)

    DAYS: MON-FRI - 1 WEEK INTENSIVE

    COST: 5 Days for $155

    TIMES: 2:00-4:00 p.m.

    CURRENT SESSIONS:

    JUNE (TBA): Still Life Level 1 & 2

    JULY (TBA): Portrait Drawing Level 1 & 2

    These classes will coach students will focus on their drawing skills by developing the ability to see the lines, shapes, planes, and angles of an object. They will understand the overall perspective of a picture, and how to create value in shading by using different pencil weights. They will practice moving from a 2-dimensional drawing to a 3 -dimensional drawing of their choice through both the STILL LIFE (1 week) and PORTRAIT drawing classes (2 weeks). NOTE: At least one STILL LIFE CLASS will be required prior to a student taking the PORTRAIT & BODY drawing classes.

    OPTIONS: If you have a group of students all wanting a class together, you may request a week that works for you specifically.

    Spiritual Themes or Non-Sectarian: If we have a student register from a school charter, we will make the courses non-sectarian for course time period. If not, we will also explore spiritual conversations such as our purpose, identity, and value as a creative being with provided Biblical references. All faiths are welcome and all questions are encouraged, please join the conversations with curiosity and respect for all attending.

OCTOBER SATURDAY ART CAMP

COME FOR GAMES, ART PROJECTS, STORIES & FREE FOOD FOR ALL AGES AS WE EXPLORE THE VALUE OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS IN ART & LIFE! 
 
This special Saturday event will be hosted by Heart Ink and special friends who want to love on our community! The day will include a full program of games, stories and CREATIVE projects from 10 AM- 5PM including a lunch and dinner for FREE! Student programs will be divided by age groups: PK-1st Grade/ 2nd- 5th Grade/ 6th-8th Grade and Men and Women Adult programs will run simultaneously to the kids. You can come drop off your child in their appropriate age level program or stay to enjoy a creative day for yourself, knowing your kids will also be having a great time, as you have ADULT CONVERSATIONS without distractions. COME, have fun, and meet knew people! You will learn about LIGHT and DARKNESS in art, or maybe (for the men) build a light fixture! Come and be surprised! Whether you have kids or not, you are welcome to join the ADULT program for free, and if you do have children, take advantage of a fun day for the both of you with our Heart Ink community!

Come to decompress from your week after the holidays, and relax while being creative! We will vote on doing either 1) A fruit basket or 2) An abstract animal after you register. IF we don’t get AT LEAST 10 in the sign-ups we will cancel and reschedule for January. One thing we will do in this event, is give you some space to ask any QUESTIONS you might have about the Bible, faith, God and have some fun Q & A throughout our painting and interaction times.

Come to decompress from your week, relax while painting and being creative, and get to know each other a bit more! I will be sharing a little bit about my life story and how art has been a part of my healing journey, and lead us in an activity of creative expression to share something from our lives that is significant as well. You will have the option to follow a painting instruction or freely work on your own with collage resources to express yourself!

COVID PRECAUTIONS

  • Pre-Screening & Masks

    We will ask parents upon registration to notify us if there is an Covid exposure or symptoms prior to each class. If necessary in an outbreak we will use screening questions. But provided that there are no symptoms, parents will be able to decide whether their child uses a mask or not.

  • Distance & Quarantine Time

    Upon request, we can seat families together, or separate individuals to provide distance if we know in advance you have a specific need. If you have been exposed to Covid, we ask you quarantine for at least 5 days, or until you have a negative test result, and contact us if Heart Ink families were exposed. We will keep your health information confidential during any exposure.

  • Cleaning Procedures

    We will clean tables, doorknobs and other surfaces before each class with alcohol spray. Used student supplies will be placed in a separate cleaning tub at the end of each class for cleaning. Art materials will not be handled by more than that specific student during each lesson.
